David Milroy

Palyku man David Milroy continues to explore the junctures between art, culture, humanity, theatre and music into the 2020s with his latest play, which will be a centrepiece of the Perth Festival in 2021. One of his previous plays, ‘Waltzing the Wilarra,’ had an extended Perth Festival run in the 2010s and was a finalist for 3 Helpmann Awards.

David’s recent video of the title song from ‘Waltzing the Wilarra’ was commissioned by the WA Museum Boola Bardip for their gala reopening in 2020.

As one of WA’s most prolific high level singer songwriters, an upcoming album release of his finely crafted songs will be a significant contribution to WA’s musical life.

In partnership with Grammy Award winning musician Lucky Oceans, David was a headliner of the Denmark Festival of Voice in 2021. David and Lucky have been chosen to play the (virtual) Sydney Sacred Music Festival in September of 2021.
